Pre-Order Policy
Pre-Orders
For new clutches, we will at times offer pre-orders. These will be available for juvenile axolotls that are not yet ready to go home, but are old enough to determine their morphs. Pre-orders will have a general picture of the current clutch which may or may not include all individuals of that are available for pre-order.
When available for pre-order:
Juveniles will be available for pre-order when they have grown most of their back legs.
When available to go home:
Pre-orders will be ready to go home when they are 3 inches long and are reliably eating frozen foods, pellets, or earthworms.
Ordering and Picking an Axolotl
Pre-Order events will be announced via Facebook and email before they are listed. Holds will not be offered for Pre-Orders and it will be first come, first serve. You will be able to pick which morph you would like to pre-order. If you require shipping, payment for shipping will be required at this time.
Once you have placed your order, we will contact you by email to pick your individual axolotl. You will have 48 hours to respond with your pick. Once you have chosen, we will hold that axolotl for you until they are ready to go home!​
Pre-ordered axolotls will be ready to go to their new homes when they meet two requirements. They must be approximately 3 inches long and reliably eating frozen foods (frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp) OR be eating pellets and earthworm bits. This allows for their new owners to more easily care for them and not have to worry about acquiring live food sources.
Delivery
When they are ready to go home, we will post another announcement on Facebook and through email letting you know that we will be contacting you soon to schedule their pickup or shipping date. We will then contact all pre-order owners individually. You will have two weeks to respond to this email. If you do not respond in this given time, you will have relinquished ownership of the animal and it will be made available again.
Once a time is confirmed, we will send your axolotl home with a care guide and a sample of its food to get you started! Please note, if we are shipping your new axolotl to you, temperature limits still apply on when it is safe to ship axolotls. Shipments might be delayed until weather improves. Make sure to refresh yourself on our shipping policy here.
Cancelations and Refunds
All pre-order sales are final. We do not offer refunds on pre-ordered axolotls expect in rare circumstances. If we are unable to provide you the agreed upon axolotl for whatever reason, we will provide refunds in that circumstance. If you have pre-paid for shipping, we will refund the shipping costs upon pre-order cancelation, but not the cost of the axolotl itself.
If during the waiting time you decide you would like to purchase a different axolotl from us, your pre-order payment can be used to cover the difference in prices.
